About

We are a safer recruitment provider

Stockton SCITT is a well-established provider of initial teacher training.

Training with us means joining a welcoming and supportive community. Our long-established partnerships with schools in Stockton and beyond give you the benefit of stability, collaboration, and shared expertise. Our programme combines expert in-house training with 1-1 coaching from a school-based teacher educator, trained by us. Our curriculum is designed to introduce you to the right things at the right time to help you build confidence and make progress. As your QTS provider, we host Sheffield Hallam University – a leading university for education – at our centre, enabling you to gain both QTS and a PGCE.

We are a small to medium SCITT, training between 50 and 60 trainees every year across the primary and secondary phases. Because we only take a maximum of 60 trainees, this allows us to get to know every trainee very well and you quickly become part of our SCITT family. We are based in Stockton-on-Tees but work across the whole of Teesside and parts of County Durham. You will become part of an experienced partnership between Stockton and SCITT and a range of schools and Academy Trusts including special schools and alternative provision, who have a proven track record of successfully training and developing our future teachers.

We will support you through a personalised training programme giving you the opportunity to thrive as an individual and achieve your qualification with real experience in a school. You will be assigned an experienced teacher educator to support you through the programme providing you with a wide range of opportunities to give you the experience and skills ready to teach.
